Open day for 2010 and 2011 entry

Wednesday 15 September 2010, 2.00-7.00pm

Whether you are moving on from school or 6th form college to University, returning to higher education as a mature student or consolidating your work experience with a postgraduate degree or professional course we can help you. On Wednesday 15 September 2010  we will be open from 2pm to 7.00pm at the Edward Llwyd Centre, Glyndŵr University, Wrexham Campus, Mold Road, Wrexham LL11 2AW. View directions to Glyndŵr University.

Our objective on the day is to ensure you have the right people and information you need to make a fully informed decision about studying at Glyndŵr University in the future.

All our academic schools will be in attendance, along with our operational staff, to discuss courses, applications, finance, student support and accommodation in greater detail – we’re here to help with every aspect of University life.

What can you do at our open day?

Academic staff from our subject areas will be available on the day to discuss undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses for both part-time and full-time programmes of study.

Student Funding Advisors will be on hand throughout the afternoon to give one-to-one advice on everything to do with tuition fees, student loans and bursaries, as well as all the student support facilities we have to offer.

Accommodation talks will be held: 3.00pm, 4.00pm, 5.00pm and 6.00pm

These will be followed by tours of the University’s on campus accommodation. Our Accommodation Services Team will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions.

Campus tours will be held: 2.30pm, 3.00pm, 3.30pm, 4.00pm, 4.30pm, 5.00pm, 5.30pm and 6.00pm

Places on tours are allocated on a first come first served basis, so we recommend you report to the registration desk at least ten minutes before the next tour is due to leave.

Staff from our Schools Liaison and Admissions Teams will be available to give you guidance on all aspects to applying to University, from the UCAS system, to personal statements and interview tips.

Financial assistance

Paying for your study and living costs

At Glyndŵr University we are committed to providing financial information and support to our students. Indeed the majority of our students received some form of financial support with their University fees in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years thanks to a range of funding initiatives.

Our student funding and welfare officers are highly experienced in ensuring you can get the best financial support package possible for your studies – they will be available on the day to discuss your personal circumstances through both one-to-one consultations and a series of talks on specific areas.

Visiting Glyndŵr University Flintshire

Our land-based and animal studies campus

At our open day on 15 September, for those who are specifically interested in our land-based and animal studies courses, we will be providing transport from our Wrexham campus to our newest campus in Northop, Flintshire.

The campus is totally dedicated to land-based education and activities, and is the place to study if your career interests lie in the rural, animal or land-based sectors. Find out more about courses and facilities available at our Flintshire campus

Please use the open day form to indicate your preference for our land-based and animal studies course areas. Check back nearer the time for details of when transport will be available.
